Garching, 28. 06 .2022 – Raycap, an international manufacturer of lightning and surge protection solutions and passive telecommunications infrastructure, is capable of delivering despite current problems in global supply chains. Recently awarded platinum and a gold certification by EcoVadis for the high sustainability of its sites in Greece and Slovenia, respectively, the economic benefits of European production sites are now also being shown through reliable supply chains.
Today, numerous companies rely heavily on the supply of individual components to keep their production costs as low as possible. However, this often results in dependencies on global supply chains. In times of crisis, such as those recently caused by pandemics and war, these can lead to breakdowns which, in the worst case, can bring a company’s entire production to a stop. The availability of components on the market suffers as a result.
Raycap’s surge protection, and connectivity solutions for protection against damage caused by lightning, have been available on the German market for many years. Thanks to comprehensive production, vertical integration, and high production capabilities at its sites in Drama (Greece) and Komenda (Slovenia), the company can deliver products even in a constricted supply chain environment. In addition, Raycap provides strength in its product innovation and component technology research and development in Komenda, Slovenia north of Ljubljana. For example, the PGDT (Phase Discharge Tube) technology was developed at its facility there. This and other Raycap technologies have made a decisive contribution to the successful miniaturization of surge protection solutions, optimizing the use of space in the control cabinet.
Currently, the campus in Drama, Greece, is also being expanded to increase the company’s production capacities further. “At Raycap, we are committed to sustainable business practices for our employees and the environment. Our ability to deliver is now also constantly maintained, strengthening our approach. Furthermore, our customers can rely on us to be a reliable partner even in times of crisis,” says Ralf Güthoff, General Manager of Lightning and Surge Protection at Raycap GmbH.
